Old World Style
Dreaming of a bygone era while longing for an intimate wedding that gives the illusion of time travel? The old world look offers an unusual interplay between warmth and formality making the opulence of the Royal Oak Room in Old Mill Toronto complete with a 24-foot mahogany table.
Old Mill Toronto Collection
Matilyn was inspired to create a collection paying homage to one of the most familiar and significant landmarks in Canada. Old Mill Toronto celebrated 100 years of hospitality and service to Toronto.
Imagine exchanging your vows in the historic Old Mill Chapel with beautifully stained glass windows, brick interior and authentic candlelight create the perfect ambiance. In fact, the stained glass windows inspired the artist.
The secret to old world style is to incorporate good quality textiles to brighten the rich wood. The use of dark charcoal grey was used to bring out and draw attention to the elegance of the room. A simple design and touch of colour completed that task successfully while maintaining the personalities of the couple.
marina & roman
With a wedding comes blending of family and friends. The beautiful couple who were married in the chapel, enjoyed a lovely feast afterwards. The challenge was to make all guests to feel welcome and recognizing there were guests who spoke only English and some who only spoke Ukrainian. Matilyn proposed to create bilingual menus. Thanks to the detail-oriented groom who translated the menus from English to Ukrainian—this wedding had all the fine details.
“You guys did a wonderful job with all the stationery and the table runners!”
